Objective
To evaluate the n-octanol/water partition coefficient ($\log P_{ow}$) of the test substance. The test substance is dissolved in methanol for analysis. This study utilizes the High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) method to measure the retention times of both the test substance and reference standards.
Since a positive linear relationship exists between the logarithm of the retention factor and the n-octanol/water partition coefficient, a calibration curve is established using reference standards. The test substance is then determined through interpolation or extrapolation based on this curve.
