OECD TG-201 Freshwater Alga and Cyanobacteria, Growth Inhibition Test
Toxicity studies of drugs and chemicals

- Test Methods/Standards
OECD TG-201
- Test species
Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata
- Introduction
The objective of this study is evaluation of the growth inhibition caused by substance in microalgae and/or cyanobacteria. The microalgae in exponential phase will be exposed to at least five different concentrations of test substance. The rates of growth inhibition will be recorded and calculated at the end of the experiment. According to these results, the half maximal effective concentration(EC50) or no observed effect concentration (NOEC) at 72 hours will be defined.
